Melanie lives in Chicago, (as some of you know!), so we don't get to talk enough (thank goodness for email and blogging though).
So, Melanie here are some of the things I LOVE because they've made or do make my life easier!
Oh, and for those of you who know Melanie, she will be coming down to visit from Chicago. And on Saturday June 7th we're having a Baby Shower for her! If you would like to come, but don't think I have your address, get a hold of either me, her, or Amy! Send me a comment with your email and we'll get in touch. Also, tell everyone you know that knows Melanie because we want to make this shower special for her. It's going to be so much fun. She is going to be one of the world's greatest mommies EVER!!!
1. Baby Einstein movies (baby Mozart, Bach,etc)- any of them are great. Vin gets so excited when we put it in.
2. Play Mat or Play Gym (any of them will do). Ours has the links that hang down. It helps them when they are real little to lift their head, strengthen their neck, and learn to sit up. It's great because they can have tummy time on it, it helps teach them to roll over and it just keeps them happy and entertained.

3. Crib aquarium- it's soothing and helps at night.

I wish I had's
1. Fisher Price Jumperoo- I always thought these were so neat. I had just the old fashioned johnny jumper with Sy. He loved it but this seems better because you can move it from room to room and it's not confined to the doorway. But, they are too pricey so I still use the johnny jumper with Vin. Whatever works. The babies don't know the difference. They do love to jump!

2. Bumbo- I don't have one of these but they are COOL. They are great for when the baby is learning to sit up and can't on their own. And they come in some cool colors.

I know there are many things that you need for a baby, it can almost seem overwhelming. Some babies like some things that others won't. Sy didn't like the swing too much, but Vin did. They both love to jump and bounce. And it was such good exercise for them. They both like the exersaucers that they can sit in with all the toys that play music, light up, etc.
Like Amy said, everything she showed is useful and helpful.
I think a bouncer is a absolute must. Mine has an attachment that can come off and on, on the front of it and it's great because Vin plays with it every time I put it on there. I set it in the center of the table while I clean or wash dishes, I'll take it in the back yard, or up stairs. He loves being in it. I've used that since day 1 and he's 9 1/2 months old and I'm still using it. That's what I like. Stuff you can get alot of use out of and it works well for the child.
I'm sure there's tons more stuff. But that's it for now. Hope this helps a little :-)

Jess, you're so awesome to post a blog just for me along with Amy!! I feel special. Thanks for all the great tips! They're helpful. I think those play mats look so much fun. And it seems like you and Amy are in agreement that some sort of bouncer is a must! I also think those Bumbo seats are cool. I hear they can get wet so are good for bath time as well. Do you know people who have them and like theM? I'm so excited to be visiting in June! You guys are so awesome to throw me a shower!
I had both the Jumperoo and the Bumbo, both of them were EXCELLENT for Rebecca. She absolutely loved the jumper. She still loves to jump!! Congrats to Melanie!!
Those are all GREAT things to have for a baby. I totally agree. Good job!
