But, I did get all that and more.
I have wonderful children, and a one of a kind husband. Drew is incredible. I am so thankful for the blessing they are in my life and they bring me so much joy.
Drew and Sy kept a big secret from me. I don't know how Sy managed to keep a secret at all. In general, he's never been good at it. We'll buy a present for one of his cousins for their birthday, and as soon as we walk in the door with the wrapped gift, he yells out what's inside "It's a barbie." ha ha He just gets too excited.
Anyway, this time they did it. I was driving home from work on Saturday after working a very long weekend, and Drew calls me asking me to park in the driveway. I didn't think anything of it. I mean, alot of times the bikes are down off the hooks in the ceiling, the stroller is in the way, various toys are out. And I usually find out when I push the garage door opener and see I can't pull in. So, I just park in the driveway. And I don't know exactly why, but I went through the front door instead of opening up the garage. I was greeted by three smiling boys and Sy telling me quite excitedly to close my eyes. "Close them tight mom" he says. He grabs me by the hand and leads me to the garage. This is what I find-

Drew had furniture delivered for upstairs. We have a big loft/area room up stairs which is the toy room, movie room, hang out for the house. We've been wanting new furniture since we moved in. But, we had to save. You know how that goes. Money doesn't grow on trees. So, they got me a couch and 2 loves seats. This is our first real furniture purchase since we got married. Well, we did get the television and book shelves before that, but still. This is very exciting. I will take a picture of the up stairs room once the project of decorating is complete up there.
Then there was more. They sat me on the couch and gave me a wrapped present. Inside was a waffle maker and some nice scizzors for cutting fabric and sewing (I desperately needed some of those).

We also made homemade waffles that were to die for. Delish!
My card said "Happy Mother's Day" on the outside. Inside, it said "And Anniversary, and Birthday, Christmas, and Next Mother's Day. You get the idea."
It was quite a treat to be surprised like that. I love my family, and wouldn't trade them for anything :-)
I also want to say how grateful I am for my own mom. She was and continues to be the best mom ever. She has always there for me, just to talk or to hang out with. She was a stay at home mom growing up. When I got home from school, she was right there waiting. In the summer, she'd get all of us summer passes to Sunsplash/Big Surf and we would just play the entire summer. What a great mom. She is not just my mom, she's my best friend. I love you mom.
