Trip to Tucson

My sister and I went to see our sister in law and the kiddos. We had so much fun. We went to Costco (got a yummy smoothie and churro), the kids swam in the backyard, and Tifani even had an activity planned for the kids- making suckers. The kids loved it because they were involved in each step and it was so easy! You just get parchment paper and put it on a cookie sheet. Then you get a bag of jolly ranchers and lollipop sticks (from the craft section). They get to pick three flavors/colors and lay them on the parchment paper. Then you put them in the oven for about 6 minutes. Pull them out and press the sucker sticks in them. Let them cool and they are smooth, beautiful, and ready to eat! Thanks for a great day Tif!

Choosing which ones they want. Hmmm ...
This is while they are in the oven.
This is the final product ... yummy!

My sister made these for our nephew.
Aren't they cute? They will look great in his new room.

What a fun activity. I know when my sister was selling Pampered Chef she used to melt jolly ranchers in a nonstick pan on the stove for 5 minutes and then poor it into a cookie cutter on parchment paper. I think it looks like the kids got just as enjoyment from making their own patterns themselves. :)
