Happy Valentine's Day!

It was a very nice day, simple. And I like simple. It isn't the best of Valentine's Days since my sweetheart is sick, but it was still enjoyable. Drew said his throat feels like razor blades, poor thing. This season has been a bad one. Sy was sick, then Drew. Then Vin, I thought I was fortunate enough not to get it, but then, of course, I got sick too. Then the VICIOUS cycle continued. Drew got it again, and now poor Sy can barely sleep because the coughing is keeping him up. Drew hasn't felt like himself for weeks. But, enough about that, this too will pass.

Drew and I had breakfast together. Sy was at preschool and for that reason, the house was fairly quiet for a short period of time. We exchanged cards and I gave him his gift. He said he had ordered something online and just found out the day before they were out of stock, so my present will be coming later. Sy and I had a picnic lunch in the backyard, just him and I. He played in his sand box and went down his slide over and over. It was about 75 degrees out, breezy, sunny, and beautiful. What a gorgeous day.

Sy loved exchanging Valentines with his friends at school. It was so fun for him. He wanted to make cookies and take platefuls to every single person we know. He is so cute and has so much excitement. We made cookies. I let him do alot hands on and he even shaped his own heart shaped chocolate chip cookies and put them on Valentines Day plates. Boy was he proud.

That is the kind of stuff that makes a mommy smile. Seeing their childs excitement and fun.

It was a nice day.

FYI- I didn't take any cookies to anyone on this particular day with a sick child who had helped me make them. We did wash hands like crazy and I only let him touch the dough for the cookies that are for him only, but still, just to put you all at ease, we will not be spreading the germs to other innocent victims (ha ha j/k). You all know what germaphobes we are anyway.
