Achievement

Sy and I put together a chart that helps him get ready in the morning. We split up all his responsibilities into categories. I let him use the images he wanted next to the words since he can't read that well yet. The "Eat breakfast" category has a waffle, etc. He gets a sticker for each task he completes. This helps him focus and not get distracted so he can get to school on time!

My sister in law put pics of these chore charts that she bought and is using for her kids on her blog http://www.melissaanddoug.com/dyn_prod.php?p=3789
I already had this made up so this is what we currently use. BUT- hers were pretty cool. I may get some for chores. But for now, this works, and it was free since I made it myself.

Sieben was so proud of himself for doing all his duties all week. Isn't it great to have that sense of accomplishment?

That's a great idea! I keep thinking it's going to be hard when I have to crack the whip to get Hallie off to school in the morning. It's so nice to take it slow right now. I'll have to remember your cute chart!

I keep thinking a chart like that would be a good idea for us...but ultimately it seems like SO MUCH WORK. How long did it take you to actually make and then explain so that Sy understood?
